I thought some clocks used the frequency of the power grid to keep time. How are they reliable if it keeps fluctuating so much?

This American Life isn't technically NPR either.

Oh, for some reason I'd never heard of it until this update. My mistake.

I've made the switch and haven't looked back. Anything I needed from Linux, I've found in OS X somewhere.

I just downloaded this. I really like the new design, especially the new album view feature. The most interesting update to me is iTunes Match: http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/

Yeah, I couldn't find it either. I'm still setting up Genius, so it may have been rolled into that.

It's a matter of personal preference. A seemingly endless expanse of text seems daunting. I like the idea of pages, they break down the text into more manageable pieces.

Out of curiosity, where did you go?

Looks like some sort of proxy. Routing through the UK is an option so BBC iPlayer will allow you to stream the Olympics.

I don't think the suggestion is that the working day everywhere should start at X:00. The idea is that 4:00 in California is 4:00 in Britain and 4:00 in China. When the day starts would vary from place to place; perhaps 1:00 somewhere and 1

I may have been too optimistic. But 30% is still quite a bit. Modern gasoline engines have an average efficiency of 20%. Say you put 100J into one. 20J of useful work will be produced, and 80J of heat. Now if 30% of that heat were captured,

This looks like it has the possibility to dramatically increase the efficiency of motors and engines. Also, if they could capture the heat coming out of a nuclear reactor, they could both avoid meltdowns and not require proximity to a large

There's no generic "News" company. This TLD would be too contested for ICANN to give it to anyone. On the other hand, ICANN can make it a TLD in the likes of .com or .net, or maybe they'll see NewsCorp as a legitimate claim.
