There's no need to wait. Rosetta is doing a fine job running x86 apps. Some apps run even faster than on intel.

Most of the reviewers don't seem to understand the concept of swapping. The SSD in the new macs is fast enough you don't (or hardly) notice when the OS swaps and so they think 8 gb is enough. While this may be fine for regular use

Plastic alternatives are also heavier and bulkier. More trucks are needed to ship the same product. Plastic is in fact the best environmental choice in many cases. Even single use plastic. The current zeitgeist regarding plastic is nothing

Afaik there are currently 4 x86 manufacturers. Intel, AMD, Via and I can’t remember the fourth one.

Unified memory on Apple silicon means the gpu/neural engine has as much ram as the mac. A future mbp with 64 gb ram will be able to fit a lot of models. A whole ML laptop for the price of one gpu.
