I managed to build it and test it a little bit and damn, it's not just marketing to describe it as having an insanely fast start up time. It launched almost as quick as I can spawn new client windows from my Emacs daemon and scrolling

I don't think it should ever be on by default but I do find it useful situationally, when scrolling through very large files (which ideally you want to avoid in your codebase in the first place) and when I don't necessarily have a

Tabs are fine as long as they represent workspaces instead of a one-to-one mapping to files or buffers. I think the browser tab metaphor does not work very well in a text editor without some modification since you often want to do split lay

For me, my Emacs runs fine up till I try using lsp for java development and then it's a bloody nightmare. Currently, I'm being forced to resort to the indignity that is Eclipse as a result of that. I'm frankly ready for a tot

Just so I understand this correctly, the version of Onivim 2 from 18 months ago will be open source? That's not the worst solution if true. John Carmack would do something similar with many of his game engines back when he was working

I really don't see the problem here. The AI rights debate is fringe at best and is currently purely hypothetical. Maybe if it was genuinely at the level where it's competing with NGOs or international aid for funding, I could see

I don't quite buy that you could really have said the same about the 32 bit to 64 bit transition. 4 Gigabytes is a far cry from 18 exabytes! It is going to be a long while till we scale up to that level.

Yeah, I can develop and test for both platforms on a machine with Linux installed so your whataboutism is both disingenuous and factually incorrect.

Assuming that this comment is 100% in earnest, why are you under the impression that we have to choose between treating human prisoners and self aware AI with dignity? Why not do both or is there some sort of compassion budget that I'm

The problem with this argument is that this is effectively happening every time you fall asleep or get knocked out. Your consciousness shuts off during both and you rely on memories to preserve the illusion of continuity. In a very real sen
