Looks pretty good - so many options for graphs and charts these days. Why per developer license? this is difficult to enforce and also annoying.

This was an Indian university. Different companies had different strategies - some would "filter" the students based on grades alone, and then pick the best from interviews. Some had their own tests, and ignored the grades totally (even i

This "forced quota" thing rarely works well - on large or small scale. Back in my college days, IBM came to campus - they announced their intention to hire more women than men, to have diversity in their workforce. While it was good for t

The book mentioned in the article - it is incredible !! It is very short - I'd highly recommend it (just finished it). Thank you OP.

I am more ignorant than anyone on this subject, I too have similar questions on the stock market as a whole, not just traders. Originally, stock market was created to raise large amounts of capital for big projects/companies. Once the IPO

Totally. One more to add to this list (for tech employees) - even if an employee writes awesome code at work, there is no way he/she can show it to future prospective employers, as it doesn't belong to them (at max, they can show their e

Totally agreed, this is incredible. If someone wants to learn, what would be the best place to get started? as in - books, software etc? Also, is there a self paced course?

Honest question - can't one take pride in the fact that people are using his/her code and it is making their life better - saving money/ time etc, even if the code is not top class? Then the question is - which is more important? Make somet

That is a really inspiring link, thank you for sharing. It got so discouraging that Lee reportedly contemplated learning computer science so he could find a job during this time, but was scolded by his wife when she found out, telling him

In one of my projects, two of my team mates were in their mid forties. One of them was a mother of two (pointing this out because she didn't have lots of free time to learn new stuff). She didn't know Java, but she was probably a million

wow, it is awesome that she agreed to it. Not many people would. I've seen middle class families in India spend 20K USD on weddings (all of their savings). So 20K in the U.S should be nothing?

A crappy chair can screw up someone's back, so logically, buying a good chair is justified and it gives mental happiness. Same for monitor (crappy monitor can screw one's eyes, give headaches etc). So it is all logical. what real use doe

Personally, it doesn't bother me too much. One suggestion could be to have two links - one with referral and the other, without. And mark them explicitly and leave the choice to the user to decide on which link to click.

Isn't it for transactional emails? If you had to send say 300k emails a month, it is going to cost more than 200$. Looks like the big advantage of mandrill over mailchimp is that the number of subscribers is unlimited.

Is it right to say that today's laws are far more scarier than 30-40 years ago? I mean, 5 years in prison for unlocking a phone, that a person paid money for and bought it? Making it a crime itself is absurd, and a full five years in priso
