It’s not complicated psyops. It’s basic marketing. ”Oh wow our product is so amazing we can’t keep up with demand you better buy before we run out”

The claim is never that it stops all crime. The claim is it stop some crime. That's like saying we don't need doctors because they can't cure everybody all the time.

Would that not be true of them as well if an adversary wanted to target those bases? If US can’t shoot down incoming threats in the Middle East - what makes them able to do it in mainland US? It is the same defence systems.

Aren’t US bases so badly defended that they had to abandon them in Middle East at times because they couldn’t defend them?

Yet most don’t. Because they don’t wanna spend time on it and they want a tested and proven software. Heck why even use Mac/linux/windows when you can just vibecode your own OS.

And how people don’t get how probabilities work when run over repeated instances. Like it is only 0,1% risk that X happens everytime Y is done which sounds low but then it turns out Y is done Z number of times per day…

It’s both. Massive regulation is usually driven by good intentions, populism. Large corporations often don’t mind when it means it would prevent smaller companies from competing with them.

Not much if a couple of thousand homes in US switches off. There are way more sensitive targets than ”they could randomly hike the electricity usage with 0,0000000000000000001%”

Clearly they have effects. Heck insulin is a peptide. And pretty sure it has a benefit for those with diabetes. Dismissing peptides outright is just as silly as thinking peptides are the solution to everything
