The first time I flew was as a grubby college student. It was upstairs on a 747. The people near me gave me dirty looks. I didn’t know what business class was or why I had been upgraded. I slept through the entire flight. I wish I had been

There’s a view that ADHD is badly named, because many ADHD people have incredible focus (at times), and many are not hyperactive in the least. It’s more of an issue about emotional dysregulation, which can be exceptionally painful for those

This has been my experience as well. It’s taken a long time to understand how I am different than most other people. Have you read about sensory processing sensitivity/highly sensitive people?

Clearly private industry has run out of profitable investments. Better to shift spending to public investments (science, education, err, the current public health emergency) than to waste more money on delivery boondoggles.

Tankus has been studying economics full time for twelve years! He's earned it. His posts used to be not good but he's paid his dues.

Hayek himself recognized that people are forced to submit to the market. He just approved of that kind of submission. I got bad news for you guys, Hayek was just making excuses for rich people running the world.

One easy trick is to simply not identify with dead people at all. America's founders were strangers to me. If they're terrible, that's on them, not me.

Financing and control are separate things. Social Security is national but recipients spend it however they want. And there’s already federal mandates in education without funding, some good, some bad.

You know who’s not laying off anyone? The military. Local funding of schools is ridiculous. Education benefits the whole nation. Educational investments shouldn’t be dictated by transient economic conditions.
