There should be some logic. Someone should create a project of this imaginary galactic GPS infrastructure, taking into a count all the details - potentially limited resources needed to build it, maximum visibility, distances coverage and th

Interesting, this is probably the right approach to searching for the aliens civilizations. These guys should have globally visible intergalactic GPS, we just have to imagine how and where they would put the searchlights, the most effective

Why not using a web site built on postgres or mysql database to track balances then, instead of using blockchain and call the thing "cryptocurrency"?

With this kind of radio you don't need to rely on P2P peers only. It becomes impossible to hide information (the best chain in case of cryptocurrency). Also, crypto shouldn't be necessarily energy based, it can use proof of stake.

Just? Imagine a globally scalable cryptocurrency where consensus is not affected by network topology and forks, in fact, just can't occur.

Can it be used for decentralized global scale consensus ?

Interesting, there are 39 pages for "why I left" vs 8 pages "why I joined". This is because bad news are always more popular, I suppose.

I mean one of the main cryptocurrencies attraction points - it's unregulated and you can move money cross borders freely. And guys from localbitcoin don't ask many questions. There are other ways also, I suspect.

You can buy Bitcoin worth 50k USD in one country, cross the border and sell it in another, with no documents required . This is useful for a subset of people .

It depends on the project's phase/team specialization. If it's new features then daily or weekly meetings, if support and bugfixing - you usually create many chats, specific to a particular issue.

Yes, there is still burning of electricity, in this scheme, but the number of dependent PoS blockchain can be many times > 1. So that we burn real energy once and build many energy efficient blockchains on top of it.

I think proof of burn could work in case of 2 blockchains - first is powered by good old proof of work, second is using proof of stake. Proof of stake validators could burn coins in 1st blockchain and reference these transactions from the 2

I'm afraid, when you read about something in the news, it is already too late to "getting started", meaning investment related activities. Imho after each word , of course.
