I am using/planning to use/move to Elastic Search (from Solr). It took me < than one day to add indexing (marshalling Go structs to json) using the official package for it. I have NOT added any code for search yet and have no

as I understand it, this is what nostr does. The relays are pretty dumb and make no promises on long term storage (I imagine it would be a few weeks-months).

Thanks, I had forgotten they had published specs. Note with Thunderbolt and a eGPU chassis, you can get the adaptor interace today. I was considering this to repurpose an older machines GPU for my 12thgen 13", but decided instead to

Thanks, I remember seeing that, but wasn't sure of the form factor (eg I am not sure you'll be able to plugin any old gpu).

Thanks for this, it was instructive. Note, there's https://nickel-lang.org/ too. I recently ripped out HCL support from my side project in favour of json. I am planning to write some support code in Nickel (types, sch

Excalidraw is nice, not a grid of course, but mostly text on an infinite canvas and has alignment tools to make it neat. The other thing that popped into my head is maybe a Kanban tool (that would be a grid). You could do a quick paper pro

I saw the title and went to look up a bunch of paper notepads :-)... (and can share if anyone is interested) I tend to use Obsidian these days along with the excalidraw plugin (if you just want to try excalidraw without installing Obsidian:

I am quite happy with my 12th gen 13" Framework running NixOS. Everything I need seems to work out of the box (sleep/resume (not using hibernate though), Touchpad, camera, mic, etc) and seems quite stable. The 13th Gen (w/i7

A lot pricier of course but there's https://www.crowdsupply.com/sutajio-kosagi/precursor too for the same kind of uses this is for.

I'll have to check this out later. Some of my older paperbacks are falling apart. I've done some coptic stitch binding in the past (journals and Alice in wonderland) and enjoyed the process very much. I would need to re-find so

Yes, decent iGPU. But no on an external GPU in the back since this is for the 13" which has no modular bay for internal GPU (They mean a USB4 -> PCIe dock for the external GPU). There IS a 16" coming that will let you plugin a

For us (also remote only in Canada, though there are offices in other countries), we just use Fedex, IT generates a shipping label, we package up the machine, print the label from IT and drop it off with Fedex (most Staples I would think),

Yeah, I was/am planning to do that. But... the project giving us trouble is still on 0.9.11 and another project that is on latest doesn't seem to be having the same issue, so some more testing is needed. At the moment, we'r

It also looks like the Ruby GEM has a resource leak with it :) (or it doesn't terminate the connection? The server is timing out saying the full body has not been read). Curl 8 got pulled into a base image update to Alpine Linux.
