I think you might be referring to the patents from Nokia. These are licensed on FRAND terms. Nokia was one of the original inventors of GSM and owns a considerable patent portfolio especially on the network tech.

Well it just sounds like your neighbors are not really open for change. You can of course try to change their opinions in town-hall meetings and so on, and that's commendable. Another option would be to vote with your feet and money. I

I think he means that int and pointer address must be interchangeable. As long as that holds, the size can be either 16 bits or 32 bits. On a PDP-11 int would have been 16-bit. On x86 32 bits. But on x86_64 int is 32 bits but pointers are 6

I don't think that's a terribly good tl;dr. Allowing git pushes over HTTPS is not necessarily a problem per se. The likely real culprit is mentioned later in the blog post: The master.php.net system, which is used for authen

I am only saying that if the canal was still UK property we could probably at least rely on the courts to impartially decide who is at fault. People don't realize things don't operate the same way in 3rd world countries as they do

The reflection off the screen reads "Calendar", "June 7", "21", and the Xcode and Terminal.app logos. Don't read too much into it - those are just the usual "parameters" of the event.

Yes, the manual explicitly notes that -p can not be used with -l: https://man.openbsd.org/nc.1 And this is indeed enforced, see line 424: http://cvsweb.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb/src/usr.bin&#

Dammit, they have of course gone with the BSD syntax for opening a local listen socket (ncat -l 1234): https://nmap.org/book/ncat-man-examples.html Means half of implemations use `-l -p 1234` and half `-l 1234`.
