Is there a reason this is trending, I can't see any changes recently? I played with the RM1 at work and quite liked it, but the locked down experience is a deal breaker. I want to be able to work with Obsidian (Onyx Boox might do this)

Was going to say the same thing. Worst case you buy it and it doesn't do what you need (itch) and in that case you can gift it to someone. I think the design decisions can be educational. I'm sure mindstorms is full of compromises

I can trace my success as a software engineer to the 'too big' presents my parents bought me for xmas/birthday. I had a desktop computer of my own as 10 year old in 1992, and a laptop, a Powerbook 190 with a 16 grayscale scre

No, I know. I should have just not qualified it as much. Would have been funnier. "I wake up at 4:59 am, 1 minute before my standup". Instead I felt the need to explain exactly what was going on (and that it was self-inflicted).

I currently wake up at 4:55 am, 5 minutes before my daily standup -- this is self-inflicted. I was in Greece when I took the job (contract) and I'm now in the UK. Daylight savings has also gone against me. Client is in Australia where

Yeah, we've stayed in accommodation like this as well. Often very shitty experiences in business aparthotels. Always good to have a list though.

AirBnBs tend to employ people as well (cleaning, maintenannce, administration). With many hotels the money is actually flowing out of the local community as the business is owned by a big multi-national. It's not really so cut and drie

It's always a complicated issue. Depending on the city/region, tourists can be the life blood. More than a few places that I've visited you're a welcome addition to the local ecosystem, bringing much needed revenue. Ther

Artificially lowering prices? You mean basic supply and demand? The regulations aren't guests responsibility the hosts and airbnb should be compliant. AirBnB and competitors are very important despite their flaws. Standard rentals are

The way most digital nomads (including myself) approach this is to not be an employee, but rather a contractor. I'm an Australian and run an Estonian company (it's far from the only option, but they make it very easy). I invoice m

As much as Debian's prior policy is laudable it's caused it to have one hand tied behind it's back for the last 20+ years. The result has been distros existing that wouldn't exist otherwise. It turns out as a user I do n

I've had some amazing pairing sessions and really really terrible sessions (FWIW I try to be a good pair). I accept everything you say about pairing, it has some really good team impacts. It gets abused though far too often not just as

The problem that a lot of people get to with Agile/Lean is that the actual practices deviate from the original goals. The powers that be can't actually handle agile in it's truest chaotic form. So it gets bastardised from the

As much as the Daily Mail is trashy it usually has more details than the other papers. A month back there was a murder outside a Korean restaurant in London. The BBC and others had only passing details[0] (though they eventually got to same
