Please, it’s a big drop in terms of percentage, but it’s absurdly large for what the app does.

Ha! Well, at least we get to see some fun? Thinking this way, it sure does give you a sense of detachment from everything that’s going on. I’m undecided if that’s healthy or not? I guess it all depends if you have confidence in the Multiver

I take pleasure in knowing that on another timeline the US is a truly great nation that has managed to completely remove its dependency on fossil fuels, and is now switching its focus to helping poorer nations do the same. It’s just a shame

I suspect one day, in a distant future, we will discuss the issues of manufacturing with external forces ie gravity, and how only the best products can be made in environments we 100% control.

The core feature of Pagerduty here is resilience imo. As in, i expect whatever’s issue I’m having that they will not be having. I imagine if an AWS zone is down, large scale network issue, etc, any home rolled solution is likely to be impac

Yeah, this kind of sound a like a UX bug. Ideally the behaviour could be changed to match the way you’re using it, which is more of a wake up call than a call based notification system.

I can relate to this! Letting go of these thought trains is so very hard and keeps me up, my partner hates it when she sees my phone screen light up at night...i don’t blame her but ironically it’s a faster path to sleep for us both.

Hopefully "market forces" will cause this to occur as a by-product of this legislation.

Recently my partner had a strap break on her Birks that were only 3 months old. Knowing the age and reputation of the brand, i assumed this would be an easy fix. She emailed them, but got an unexpected response of effectively “bad luck”. Th

For large appliances yes (AC/Oven/Stove/HVAC etc), that should happen, but for other issues it's 50/50 on if you'll get covered (probably even less). Single data point: I just (last week) had a title insurance

Thats the real point I was trying to make. It's just not how the money should flow, the incentive should be to protect the buyer not the seller.

Yep, exactly this. The bank needs to see a number so they can certify the mortgage. Unless it's something absurd, they generally just agree with whatever the sale price is. Which, if we're being serious, is fair market value by de

Many medical research organizations have more money than they know what to do with. The heart and stroke foundation is a great example of that. I’m not suggesting we don’t fund these orgs, even reduce funding, but i feel like we could diver

Humans use multiple sensors together at one. Your inner ear is a great example. If you see a picture doing one thing, but your inner ear feels another, this is the senstation that causes motion sickness. I cannot find the source right now,
