I get the sentiment around this, especially as there's no way to reasonably get ram that isn't susceptible to these failure patterns. But, with that said, memory is extremely low margin (dram is a commodity market) and is priced p

I fasted for around 40 hours once, and by the end I felt extremely low energy. I noticed I was avoiding standing, leaning on things if I did, and my normal foot-tapping or idle movements completely stopped. Does anything like that happen to

Also - if you're talking about canned tuna, the "Chunk Light" is generally made from Skipjack which is a smaller fish and will have less bio-accumulated mercury than any other tuna.

Computer hardware has a very long lead time between product concept and metal-in-your-hand. Combined with the pains and huge initial slowdown of a megacorp purchasing a medium-corp, I think the real fruits of that acquisition are yet to be

I remember the _weirdest_ news cycle where like >4 news sites (including The Guardian iirc) ran articles calling MP3 a "dead" format now that the patents expired. Definitely felt like a "wet streets cause rain" story.

I don't think that's their logic at all. The logic is that, compared to the salaries of software engineers and revenues of many tech companies, desks and keyboards are extremely cheap. The cost of a ~$100k engineer spending 10m pe

I can imagine them introducing a bug, but most motion of the interp is done in hardware. Otherwise it takes a seriously hefty gpu to do 60hz->120hz interp without dropping frames. Especially at 4K.

It's not just that the eye is less sensitive to chroma. Although your 4:2:0 subsampled 1080p video only has 540x960 pixels with chroma information, the decoder should be doing chroma upsampling, and unless its a super simple algorithm
