Angular velocity is not velocity, the velocity increases because the angular velocity was remaining constant as the radius increased. It's encoded in the radius, but the area is visually more impactful - to me anyway - until the end wh

My point is if you want to inform people about climate changes, be accurate with visualisations (i.e. don't equate something quadratic with something linear without being very transparent about this). If you want it to not be arbitrary

This visualisation is misleading because the visual area covered increases quadratically as the radius increases, and (less misleading) the velocity of the 'pen' increases linearly too. But it's measuring a difference (not an

Yeah at this point, if English isn't your first language you probably know how to auto translate a website if you need to. Shouldn't offer other languages if they aren't manually translated.

It's confusing because I was talking about English having an American flag.

Yeah as I said the best thing is to remove the flag, because languages aren't flags. As someone else said, just put the language name in its own language. I'm not jumping up and down annoyed, I'm not even really annoyed, I ju

I'm not saying they should say English is from the UK, although as a matter of fact it is, and I don't know why that would offend anyone. I'm not offended either way. I'm just identifying a cultural issue they've ov

You're going to put off UK customers having language icons, with English with a USA flag and Welsh with a UK flag. Many people who speak Welsh would probably rather associate Welsh with the Welsh flag. Likewise it's confusing or s

Well they can probably get in trouble for branding as GNU, even if they disclaim it somewhere else. GNU is trademarked, for one. https://trademarks.justia.com/853/80/gnu-85380218.html

Judges are not meant to write laws. There is deciding a new precedent in the application of existing law. And then there's redefining 'sexual harassment' to mean whatever you want to get the same level of punishment for thing

But "women are bad at X" is not 'sexual harassment'. Misogyny is not identical to sexual harassment, they are two different things with some overlap. EDIT: would downvoters (or downvoter + socks) like to explain their

If Twitter overestimated actual users by like 200% then that wouldn't affect its profitability by 40%? It could do, not sure why Bloomberg is defending Twitter so hard.

Yeah this is the problem, the 'terminal' used to be the box/machine in-front of you. Now a 'terminal' is pretty much just a window or tab most of the time.

To be fair, if you ever rely on the default hash it's already safe to assume you don't care about performance. There's no good 'default' for all input.

The one I cooked up was used to test some kind of game solver, so a 'large set' and it happily beat std::unordered_map, was a tiny bit slower than a Google hash map implementation. But I do believe in edge cases, I'm sure the
