Smoking is more prevalent on the lower end of the household income scale, so any other lifestyle factors that correlate with income (too many to list here) will contribute to poorer health outcomes for the demographic in general.

Yes, but the smoking demographic may experience higher cognitive decline in general due to other lifestyle factors not caused by inhaled particulates.

First, can you explain how you came to interpret my particular statement as a universal one? It doesn't seem like a good faith reading. If you doubt that a Chrome monopoly results from Chrome on iOS, that's an argument you can mak

If you are in favor of Chrome on iOS, then you are in favor of a Chrome monopoly, or you don't understand how browser monopolies work. Or maybe you weren't around during the browser wars (a lot of < 30s on HN).

See how you qualified your use of "improvement" with "technical?" The parent post did not, which is why I commented.

Better for whom or for what purpose? Remember, we are using value-laden terms here. The parent essentially said higher frame rate is better because higher frame rate is better. There are many reasons for which higher frame rate is worse. 2x

I'm not sure what you think "objective" means, but typically it means independent of experience. When you say "objective improvement," in what sense, independent of experience, is higher frame rate better? Obviously

The article only touches on this in the last paragraph, but another challenge is translating the language to serve multiple purposes. The canonical texts never serve one purpose. They need to have an allegorical/exegetic component for

Home address establishes transparency and that the applicant is a real person (usually). I agree it doesn't matter for hiring purposes beyond that, but I've found home address to be a good indicator of a non-generated resume.

I mean mostly yearly professional conferences and staying active in those respective organizations. It could be that SF is just an outlier due to the competition and that so many are transient.

What is your take on the "Apple prison" metaphor? I hear this a lot, but I can install whatever I want on my Mac and have zero issues doing what I need to. It's true that iOS is a walled garden. I suppose if you have serious

You're using the term "own" in a non-standard way to make your point. When you buy a Mac, part of the deal is that it runs macOS. However, you still own the Mac. You can loan it to others or sell it. You can sleep with it und

Possibly, but you may be underestimating the degree to which the App Store hampers the average user from getting the applications they need. Users think it's easy to use, yes, but they don't know enough to know better. Homebrew&
