Exactly my thoughts but with the HHKB. I can't imagine another keyboard surpassing it in terms of usability or thoughtful design, so shopping around for new keyboards isn't interesting anymore. However, I still like enjoy looking

My guess is that it's a deliberate choice by the style guide. It's a frequent enough word to warrant its own acronym, but it's technically not a common noun, like "scuba." Hence the capitalization. Another example t

I've never seen this with a microwave, but this exact thing (Bluetooth mouse choppiness) happens with interference from other Bluetooth devices in the vicinity, especially when pairing. Most microwaves do produce some BT interference,

Yes. My work microwave is just at the end of my Bluetooth range for my Airpods Pro. If the microwave is off, then my signal is basically fine and won't cut out. Once I turn the microwave on, all are bets off, and it cuts in and out.

The hottest my iPhone 13 Mini gets is charging with the Camera app on, too. I don't know if this phenomenon is unique to the newer phone.

Moral relativism is the most absurd form of moral realism, which is itself an absurd position. I'd be more interested in an explanation for why so many otherwise intelligent people, who are more than capable of reasoning for themselve

It's been a liberal publication for a long time. I think you might have it backwards though. If the Overton window shifts right, then The Atlantic would be considered more liberal, wouldn't it? If anything, some of the other journ

True, but either way the default font size would appear too large on 640x480 or too small on 2560x1440.

Considering nearly every deprecated element still works in modern browsers, you could just make your website for 1994 browsers. You'd have to keep the layout pretty simple, and the font size would be too small due to lower resolutions

As an American, I find the boiling speed of 1L in an electric kettle to be remarkably fast compared to drip coffee or boiling on the stove. Granted, that says more about my expectations than the actual speed. Generally I use an insulated 4L

".masthead" is an example of high-level abstraction class you might find in complex CSS. This is the kind of thing where there's no guarantee your markup will match how the classes were "intended" to be used. How th

I second everything here and wish more people would actually work on complex projects with multiple maintainers before they rush to judge Tailwind based on arbitrary norms from the Netscape-era web.

I'd say you're doing things correctly then. In my experience, site/application-wide refactoring or restyling is much less common than adding or fixing components. You can't really optimize for both.

Most of Tailwind's class names follow a regular pattern and match very closely to the actual property names. It's much closer to learning legal shorthand than a new language.

SCSS can be a nice timesaver, but it's generally not needed and adds complexity. Avoiding complexity is often the point of using Tailwind in the first place.

Not this again. With Tailwind, there are no hidden abstractions. Does that make the html harder to look at? Yes. But the tradeoffs are that you're not hiding how your CSS interacts with your documents, the way "traditional" C
