This garbage was appropriately torn apart in the twitter thread already Sad to see someone so non understanding add the "ah yes the people who are 10x as strong as others, just only held back" shtick and then to see it echoed as &

I don't think I have ever clicked anything on one of those headers on a website in my life. In fact the anti pattern is so obnoxious I literally couldn't tell you what's even on them.

Yep, working for a BigCo and the culture was just as a matter of course to turn cameras on and see each other. I am really curious where the opposite is coming from

I'd describe this as a "live map" not a "recent map" Certainly not worthy of being called "misleading" but I would say it's misnamed

Like other people in this thread I've had the idea of retiring early and having a second career as a teacher. What if I did that, and then just refused to take any of that shit? Are teachers rare enough that I wouldn't get fired?

Granted such people exist but twitter i.e. the board acting in shareholders interest, in fact wants the deal to go through, not to get the $1B thing.

That logic is nonsense, 3rd party observers have no way to know what twitter counts as a daily active user. They *could not possibly* make any such estimate.

You're not caught up with things. Twitter is suing to force the deal to go through at the original price, not to get the $1B.

Yeah but we will get the word out that none of that is trustworthy, then. There will be countermeasures and reactions to this just like previous things. It will certainly be effective to some degree - propaganda is effective for sure - but

Right but today we have that problem already. We know that a bad actor journalist can write a fake story. We therefore require sources. If deepfakes come along we will know videos can be fake and so we will be skeptical, as we are today, an

Well, it depends on what is in the firehose. What twitter really knows that you can't just see, is how (with what client) users are logging in and whether their ad tracker URLs are being triggered (i.e. the user really did result in an

Yes, it is crucially different. mDAU is defined in the SEC filings which you can easily check. Basically it boils down to, there's say a billion twitter accounts. A shitload are inactive, or obviously bots, or joke accounts, or actual

That's exactly it, a bot using headless client or something would "view" the ad (trigger download of the ad, etc.) but not be a real person (no eyeballs on the ad). Hence, that instance of the ad display was fake/fraud&#

Twitter doesn't ever claim its bot numbers are 5%. Only Musk says Twitter says that. Twitter says its mDAU (critically important distinction and definition, check SEC filing for what it means) is under 5% bots which is a different numb

There is no $1B exit clause - there's just a $1B cap to damages twitter can sue for if the deal falls through. A court would have to decide to award $1B. Twitter can further sue for "specific performance" and a court could, w
