You should never double click to open a csv file in excel. You should ALWAYS import the file into excel. Set your types during import. Many of the complaints about excel's csv handling in this thread are user errors.

IIRC, the background processes for these ad and crypto services still run in the background even when you disable them. I haven't checked the browser in a long while. But it's easily verifiable by opening the brave task manager. Q
