Siemens [1] recently put an all electric propulsion, battery powered ferry into operation on the Lavik-Oppedal route in Norway. So not exactly long haul, but a good demonstration on the feasibility of the technology. Hurtigruten [2] has ord

Scandinavians living abroad are known to visit IKEA to get a taste of home. It's almost impossible to get any of the products abroad. Which makes sense, there's not that many of us.

Regardless of this being something new one can hope that it marks a point in time where access to consumer-geared motherboards and CPUs that support ECC-memory becomes more available. Simply because people actually want it.

Are you sure about this? Usually you can be stopped and searched quite far inland as long as they can prove that you recently crossed the border. This is often used to take smugglers.

I understand that there are some overlapping rules and regulations between EU member states and states in the Schengen Area. But you don't have to go more than a year back, when the refugee crisis peaked, to find Norway enforcing full

I guess it's a workflow that has stuck with me from using a Macbook Pro. For some reason I rarely feel comfortable sitting with a monitor, keyboard and mouse for many hours.

That's what everyone seems to be saying, but that is more of a workaround than solution, if you ask me.

It would be so much easier to love my Thinkpad T460s if it wasn't for the touchpad. Coming to Thinkpad and Linux after many years as a Mac-user this was almost a deal breaker for me. The palm detection in synaptic driver is laughable.

Complete anecdote, but that can change quite fast. I'm an avid Uber user (mostly because there are no real alternatives), and after the latest update everything is completely broken. - It will randomly just cancel your trip, without it

Doesn't really matter that they've made Pipelines available for all users when it's lacking some pretty basic functionality. Like the ability to do something on failed builds. But other than that it looks really good and resp

It makes no sense that I have to modify the start up options or (on OSX) create a shortcut in Automator to set the correct start up options. In Chrome it has been solved very nicely. But it looks like this is being solved in future versions

Still no way to run multiple independent windows without a lot of dirty hacks. This is the only thing that keeps me with Chrome: The ability to close a certain set of windows when I'm done at work and have them out of the way. Or the o

It would be amazing if they at least started looking at what types of ads they are running. Some, if not even most, are completely against local regulation. The rest are outright actual scams or some multi-level marketing schemes.

Yes, but you can agree that Shenzhen is a little different from a station at the endpoint of a hyperloop. To have a city grow more or less organically it's going to take a lot of time. It makes more economical sense to build a hyperloo

I think you underestimate how long it takes to build a sizeable city, big enough to support having a hyperloop station or endpoint.

You can always use transitions to add the same effect. I personally enjoy when things open quickly, some people almost fetishize transitions to an absurd level.
