A better user interface _is_ "doing the task well". Functionality and design are not exclusive from each other.

Qt works excellently on desktop and is the only realistic choice for native look & feel across Windows and Linux. I'm pretty sure it's going to be a disaster on Android and iOS because they are so radically different from each

Really sluggish on the Note 2 too. Even Chrome is faster.

Maybe Jolla could try and lure some existing Android and iOS developers by giving out free devices. wink wink nudge

There'll be a session about the new tools in a few hours, so there'll probably be more news then.

This is amazing news. The S4 has amazing hardware but the Samsung stock software is absolutely terrible in almost every aspect.

You're talking about the same Finland where the police force: - writes its own search warrants - raids gardening stores because their equipment "could be used" to grow illegal drugs - tries to charge people with wiretapping for recording t

Whitespace doesn't exist just for the sake of being pretty. At least to me I find this mockup much more readable than the current design, as the space between links clearly separates them. This makes it much easier to read their titles.

Qt, Qt, Qt. Basically the only toolkit that gets native look & feel right.

With the demise of Messenger impending, I thought that this would be a great time and opportunity to try and push an open chat alternative to people still using WLM. I'd rather not go from one closed protocol to another, especially since 3r

The OVA image is a standard format. I'd imagine EC2 would support importing it.

No, please don't. Android app design is already a gigantic clusterfuck where half of the apps still look like they're stuck in 1995 and using a non-native UI toolkit isn't going to help. And this is coming from a huge fan of Qt and a KDE us

Chrome for Android lets you move between tabs easily by swiping from the left and right corners of the screen (and swiping in general is used for tab navigation in Android). Maybe Opera could rip that off.

Yes, it is. The Galaxy Nexus is: - an exception - a 1.5 year old model - a discontinued product - a model that Samsung did not ever advertise themselves - the only high-end Samsung phone not running their software The Galaxy Nexus is a Goog

Because this is an issue in Samsung's software. The Nexus devices run pure Android by Google.

NS2 is a great game but it seems to require a supercomputer to run. My Q6600 and GTX560Ti can run most new games smoothly at decent settings, but not this one. I can barely reach 30 fps at some points.

3) Opening the comments of an article in portrait mode and then going landscape on the Nexus 7 crashes the app completely (presumably due to the multi-panel mode in sw600dp+ screens?)

If you mean configChanges, I would strongly recommend against it because it is a bad practice and it probably wouldn't work in this case anyway (no activity recreation = no multi-panel layout on a 7-inch landscape screen).

Two problems with rotation: 1) The article list scrolling position is reset. 2) On my Nexus 7, going from landscape to portrait while viewing comments closes the comments.
