> The surprising aspect is that Authz has a validity of 300 days (which is likely to be increased) This is not true. Authorization lifetimes are only going to get shorter and shorter [1], and have already been reduced to 90 days. [1] ht

There seems to be an about:config key for the backend, but I'm not sure if this is officially supported. The backend is open source [1]. [1] https://github.com/mozilla-services/pageshot

> Your crypto choices seem somewhat unusual. PBKDF2, while not necessarily unsafe, is a fairly old KDF to choose for a new product. Can you go into more detail about your rationale for choosing this over newer KDFs? What would you recomm

That is a fundamentally broken design. There is literally no excuse for a simple messenger app to suck up a gigabyte daily. How do you expect people to adopt this when they have broadband and wireless plans with data caps?

Hetzner is very much a budget host with mediocre support, etc. Most of their servers are built with desktop-grade hardware. You're comparing apples and oranges.

OnePlus? I think that the Nexus 6P will age well if you can get it for cheap soon. There isn't any indication that these phones will be any less developer friendly than the Nexus phones, if you don't have a problem with the price.

How about having acceptable performance to begin with? Even the medium spec Flame developer device feels laggy and generally unresponsive in use. Actual consumer devices like the $35 Firefox phone were literally unusable: http://

Phone layouts automatically blowing up to a 10 inch screen and allowing developers to be lazy is not an advantage. The tablet apps on Android are still garbage after all these years.

This is because of Samsung's garbage software. Years and years go by and every single time they manage to make the best hardware and slap a laggy and bloated version of Android on top of it. I'm sure that a Note 7 with a more Nexu
