I'm not sure I understood your point though. Retirement accounts hold YOUR money, that is money that YOU saved for YOUr own use later. Whether I put it in a savings account or taxable investing account it is still part of my net worth

Neither of those accounts are "locked up", there are ways to access your money before the government sponsored year of retirement. See rule 72(t) or periodic distributions for withdrawing without penalty. Finally you can always wi

I went through something similar but remember the name of the game is to not volunteer unnecessary information. Did you tell the agent you didn't leave after you were laid off? Or did you just ask for a new TN once you had a new offer?

I'm also on Fi and love it for the reasons you mentioned BUT keep in mind that swapping your SIM for a local plan is a lot cheaper, on average. In Eastern Europe for USD$10/month you get unlimited data and you can have people call

I wonder if the records set now during the reduced traffic COVID era will be able to be beaten once regular (or accelerated traffic begins due to reduced public transit use) resumes. If we defund the police completely then maybe new records

I'm so happy to hear this. I cannot stand tipping and genuinely get anxiety when I'm out with friends and the wife and she sometimes pays without knowing what the right "tip amount" is. It happens to me too, where I have

Hiking in the Bay Area is extremely difficult right now. You have to wear a mask EVERYWHERE outside where you are near people. On trails with 90+F weather you have to put your mask on every 30 seconds with how many people there are, it'

Your coworker is totally on the money with this analysis. More so, I think folks like me that had a 5 minute walking commute are losing out a ton of benefits by not being near the office anymore. I'm lucky the weather's been coope

Nice idea! I think for people who constantly want to invest in the next big thing, this would come in handy. As an aside, a good friend of mine warned me that investing at the beginning of an IPO generally is a bad bid. It's better to
