Thats an interesting thought. I wonder if we could do visual representations similar to "skin color + thumbs up" == colored emoji to essentially convert operator + verb combos into ligature type single characters. Would help with

Depending on the stack, you can use some open source libraries. Datascript is quite robust, and useable from javascript/clojurescript. https://github.com/tonsky/datascript

John Earnest also details how trees are handled in K (an array based language invented by Arthur Whitney). https://github.com/JohnEarnest/ok/blob/gh-pages/docs/Trees.m...

We want our employees to live first, work second. So we have set it up so people can work from anywhere, and they do. A lot of employees go and work from interesting travel places for a few weeks or months.

I also think it would be valuable to autoconvert long lines (rows or columns) of similar formulas into a mapping on an array. That would require some level of shape analysis on the excel file.

I'd recommend against falling into some mode of cargo cult thinking on this one. A key part of whether self serve is going to work is to look at how fragmented the requirements and use cases are across different customers. In many case

Maybe start with transforming the "present" of marketing, and avoid hyperbole?

Popcount is also very valuable in search (bitmap) indexes, for example roaring bitmap by Lemire uses it quite a bit.

"To understand recursion, you must first understand recursion", said Benoit B. Mandelbrot. When asked about his middle initial he said: it stands for "Benoit B. Mandelbrot".

I dont agree. Its actually the exact same thing. Before AWS you did not time share servers. Servers would be idle for long amounts of time if the capacity requirements were spiky. You have the same situation here, but for work areas/me

Neither, IMHO. The thing doing the simulation need not exist inside the simulation, or have any physical resemblance to any concept inside the simulation.

No idea is good enough when you start off with it. Suspend disbelief, iterate on the idea. Do this with 20 different ideas, and you will narrow down on a few that are very viable. Also build up skill sets outside of engineering so your comm

The analogy I give is this - when you fly SF to NY, the pilot does not have exactly the correct amount of fuel to make the trip. That would be foolish. You'd want to have some reserve (say another hour or two of fuel) as insurance. Sur

I have a very different reason. In most large companies, you pay some sort of productivity overhead - for X units of work, you have to pay say 30%X for internal marketing, coordination(meetings) and other random activities. When that ratio

If you take a look at things like converting beziers into sub-beziers of specific flatness, you could express it pretty easily as a // convergence as in k, or a power operator in apl, but it would be really nice to have the notion

I have played with both Nile and APL now for a bit, and I have been thinking about how to combine them. I believe if we took Nile's operator overloading, tick syntax (s' is the previous value of s), and recursion being expressed v
