I've been beating this drum for a while. Spring has lots of legacy as it is 17 years old and has been through a series of technology waves over the years. That has both benefits and drawbacks. With Spring Boot and Kotlin support it is

I don't finish 95% of my side projects and that is OK. Most side projects start because I have some interesting problem in my head that I want to solve and then I start obsessively solving it for a few days until it is solved or...unti

While saying yes to everything is an interesting way to learn new things. Keep in mind that saying no is also a skill to be learned. As a person currently struggling with always-say-yes related burnout symptoms I cannot stress enough how i

With Apple degrading the developer experience with each release and Microsoft working hard on things like WSL(2) and the new "package manager" I think within a year or 2 lots of developers will go back to Windows-based machines.

There is zserge/webview which is a component that wraps the native webview on a given desktop platform. I haven’t checked it in detail but I’m curious if building an electron-style app framework with this is possible. https:/

I cannot comment on Vault as I have not tried it yet, but I am a happy user of sops for some deployments. In my case the secrets are stored in a sops-encrypted JSON file in the repository. Sops encrypts the secrets but keeps the JSON struct

If you're using terraform with multiple people and are having problems keeping the state in sync I would suggest looking at remote terraform backends and state locking. For example on AWS we use the s3 backend and a dynamodb table for

I regret it took me 5 years of mobile development (both platforms) to realize I really don’t like writing GUI code. I switched to backend and infrastructure work and I’ve been a lot happier since.
