There are multiple private server implementations. Blizzard does not hunt them. They are on github, you can run it in your basement and play with bots and some friends. I don't know if that presents a copyright violation, but as a matt

I don't know much about FF. But a thing with WoW is that new release often brings a significant rework of many game mechanics; they might squish everyone's level; edit stats for millions of items; rework class talents and abilitie

IPv4 is absolutely fine. Consumers can be behind NAT. That's fine. Servers can be behind reverse proxies, routing by DNS hostname. That's also fine. IPv4 address might be a valuable resource, shared between multiple users. Nothing

AI not just types code for you. It can assist with almost every part of software development. Design, bug hunting, code review, prototyping, testing.

You do you, but I never bothered with anything like that and just used Windows as it is. It works. Yes, it probably tracks me and sends some stuff to MS servers but I don't care. I trust them enough to run their proprietary code on my

Didn't read the paper, but it was easy for me to derive constants 0, 1, e and functions x + y, x - y, exp(x), ln(x), x * y, x / y. So seems to be enough for everything. Very elegant.

This is a lot of pain. It is very easy to fix. Add button somewhere around text box. Which turns it into multiline text edit control, increases its height. Now <Enter> works as line feed and to submit the text user have to click "

Use cloud AI hoster with open model. Can't get more transparent and reliable than that. They won't subsidize anything, because the whole point of their business is to rent hardware. Open models won't go anywhere, they're

The most obvious approach seems to implement device blocks as S3 objects and use any existing file system on top of it.

You can't just walk in and out carrying 12kg bars. Also I don't think you can just buy a bar of tungsten, you gotta smelt it, coat with gold, not trivial. That kind of operation would involve a lot of cooperating people. You also

Mac apps often do various things on your computer. Just because you dragged it to Bin, doesn't mean there are no leftovers on your computer. I'd prefer proper uninstaller any day.

I don't think "know COBOL" is enough. I'm pretty sure I can learn COBOL in a week. It's more about "know COBOL and know all this old stuff like CLIs, etc, and know all these old approaches".

What I think today people do: 1. They run complicated infrastructure software, written by third-party developers. 2. And they run their own simple programs on top of them. So for example you can rent Kubernetes cluster from AWS and run simp
