The voltage regulator module serves both CPU and GPU so the thermal issues are related.

Disable turbo boost. Throttling is not directly linked to any temperature sensor, and turbo boost almost instantly causes throttling, which then takes some time to return to normal because of a back-off algorithm.

Some tips on throttling problems: First, disable turbo boost. Second, point a desk fan at your MacBook. Third, eliminate processes that peg the CPU. --- How to know when it is throttling: Download Intel Power Gadget and watch the Frequency

The canvas actually seems less performant when I compared it now. Scrolling is not as smooth. Click `Save as copy` and try it out.

If you click `Save as Copy` on the example doc you get an editable DOM-based version to compare. The scrolling is a lot less smooth on the canvas than the DOM. Text selection seems faster but the canvas version is not editable... Maybe they

Yeh this is missing right now. I'd love a search indexer that runs locally and incrementally, so that I can search without building/publishing.

Combining TypeScript's API Extractor (Microsoft) with Docusaurus is great. You can mix guides/tutorials with generated API docs. For example, I really like having simple API docs in the `readme.md` file, but then also in-depth doc

Awesome stuff! Wish someone would do this for Logitech Harmony remote controls. 1. The software was terrible but hardware was awesome. 2. The entire line is discontinued.

A counter point would be to look at the Python ecosystem. They have many fewer libraries but the ones they have are very well maintained and widely adopted. JS/Node is full of unmaintained projects that people inevitably need to migrat

I feel like there just needs to be a good plugin that gives you proper stats as to how long things are taking and tips to improve things. It’s usually slow css loaders, or too-inclusive patterns for loaders ending up processing node_modules

I find it useful to have my vendor dependencies compiled and watched for debugging. There are always bugs in deps or poor error messages, and sometimes the dev tools debugger doesn’t work properly, so being able to modify a dev is nice. Of

It's surprising that graph dbs aren't more popular. Just as document dbs can be derived/denormalized from SQL dbs, relational dbs can be derived from a graph. Conceptually, data is a graph. I always find the decision between

I was thinking today we need a communal collection of diagram templates that we can reach for instead of re-making our own each time. I shouldn’t have to re-adjust my mental model because of some stylistic/level-of-detail decisions by

It's probably the simplest solution if you are running batch job once per day. Just ensure you are running one query per filter set, and you have your indexes setup correctly. Maybe you could speed up your queries by using a materializ

This approach would be cool if it ran on a database on the frontend too. You could run a complex query against an in-browser DB with a few joins and some params, and then tweak the params, and it would only need to pull down the missing row

I miss Backbone too. You could just step through the code in the debugger and it was so compact. With React you can’t really do that. It’s always following an error message saying: “look near this component” which is often deep in the hiera

I think its unfortunate that Prisma is only server-side due to its Rust-based native DB module. I think we can achieve a huge simplification in the industry if we develop a universal state-management solution that runs in the frontend and b
