My Archlinux based LiveUSB setup comes around to 1GB and has Libreoffice, Wine, Firefox/Chromium. That said, there are some questionable dependencies in Archlinux lately. For example, mpv now requires smbclient, which then pulls python

And how many people know of Native Client, let alone about chrome://flags? Not to mention that advice won't work then not using a persistent Chrome profile. And Google removed "--disable-plugins" so it is not even p

Lobsters, shrimps or mussles are actually delicious, and are thus expensive. Insects or dog/cat meat on the other aren't, as otherwise they would have been adopted into worldwide diet long time ago. So today they still remain a ch

This particular exploit relies on Native Client, which is concerning since it is on by default and is hard to disable.

It's a positive development, not sure the negative comments. 5% is chump change if a game is successfull. The engine is also open source (so no hidden malware), runs on Linux and WebGL.

Best option would be a bitcoin blockchain connected to government run internal blockchain (or similar) systems. That would offload huge amount of trivial transactions, simplify current archaic internal systems and reduce effectiveness of u

Netflix is only winning in the U.S and some western Europe states. Given the current political issues and copyright enforcement it is unlikely to win in the East unless it is dirt cheap. And I'm not sure if Netflix has same day TV rele

Right now in Russia you can buy an Android 4.4 smartphone (Beeline Smart 3) with Wifi, GPS and 4 inch screen for $30. Not sure how Microsoft's phone can compete with similarly priced Chinese or Indian smartphones.

The official emulator is so slow it's a joke. Genymotion or Intel HAXM are a bit better but the whole process is clunky. Once Google introduces Android runtime to Chrome, developing for Android should become much easier.

The price isn't bad but you can already get slightly worse Android phones for $70 in Russia, and cheaper in China.

I'm running Archlinux from a flash stick on a cheap Haswell Celeron. From BIOS to chromium/wifi on is about 20-30 seconds. And I'm using connman so it could be faster with directly using wpa_supplicant/dhcpcd. On Windows

Ascend W1 costs $300, so Microsoft is subsidising 50% of the phone. Not sure how that is not considered as price dumping. Also, the 4Afrika website looks like a typical short-lived Microsoft marketing initiative.
