If you like the harder blind guardian songs more (like mirror mirror) have a look at the band Persuader. The singer somewhat randomly sounds like Hansi kürsch and all their songs are more towards speed/heavy metal but with clear power

Yeah but it's also an absurdly rare occurrence that someone would put 100% of their wealth I to the stock market RIGHT before the crash and then never invests again (more than the dividends). These headlines are fun and all but not ver

I was in a similar boat but did end up having a son recently with my wife. I am still pretty sure that I would be happy without kids but I am also happy with a kid. One thing I think people do tend to overestimate is how much work kids will

Is this nominal or real GPD? It's not surprising that GDP can grow in a high inflation environment, doesn't mean anyone is better off for it.

The difference between Game (engine) dev and modern microservice development is pretty staggering. It actually cuts both ways. As a webdev when I dabbled with some OpenGL programming it actually felt amazing how much stuff you can cram into

I mean it's still the 8th biggest economy in the world, so not exactly small. People always find this very surprising giving all the issues the country has but the north has many centuries of high-end manufacturing history. In particul

On my Samsung S23 I can use the fingerprint reader without "tap to wake" just on the black screen. Is that not possible with pixels?

Contrapoint: Samsungs UI is much cleaner than modern pixel phones. After a minimal amount of setup it gets much less in the way than stock android on pixel phones.

The reason why you want to use skip locked is so that Postgres can automatically skip rows that are being concurrently accessed for updating the "status". You are right, if you update a "status" field you don't real

Considering that you have a native "offset" (auto incrementing id) and the ability to partition by date I would say postgres is a great candidate for a simple Kafka replacement. It will also be significantly simpler to set up cons
