What if it does something weird like trapping your consciousness in a loop for eternity. That would presumably be far worse than simply dying. (Sorry)

By the time humans are able to create universe scale simulations, post-scarcity might well have been achieved. So finite computational resources — or indeed economic competition — might not be a thing anymore.

This seems to happen often in tech. Imagine you were the PM of Wave. It was such a revolutionary way to work. But no one was ready for it. People (in larger orgs) are so easily set in their ways. Even now with Teams and Workspace people wil

Not OP but I find the interface to be quite ugly and dated. Also some apps are missing (might be a region issue, though). Google TV seems to be the most complete solution now. Next to Apple TV and Shield.

I doubt that. All the evidence would suggest Google is maximizing employee comfort anf productivity to the exclusion of all else. They are already spending literal billions on real estate in pretty much all the most expensive metro areas in

In what democratic country is this the case nowadays? I‘ve lived in a buch of places in Europe and have friends in many more. The divide might not be as pronounced as in the US but it‘s certainly there. Using me as an anecdotal example, I h

That works for very niche streamers/creators. Maybe with an older audience as well. If your a streamer on twitch or YouTube chances are your audience isn‘t older than 30. I personally don‘t really use email for actual communication. Tw

You can use an adblocker and still pay for premium. In the beginning I mostly did it to get rid of iOS YouTube ads. Now I just keep it to support channels as well. Not everyone has a patreon and I don‘t want to pay every channel membership.

That‘s why you plug your twitter and maybe other socials (mailing list as well I guess, though less usual) at every possible opportunity. It‘s incredibly important to cultivate the relationship with your audience. In the event that you have

Not among potential employees I would guess. Obviously generalizing here, but most engineers (especially fresh graduates) would rather work on a new thing than do maintenance, if given the choice. Google offers a pretty good value propositi

Mentioning MS in that way doesn’t help your argument. They are doing better than ever before. Who cares about desktop space (which they still have an enormous market share of btw) when you have Azure. I would argue the antitrust settlement

I can only assume the only remaining reason why people even still want traditional TV is live sports. Stuff might finally be happening. I can‘t wait for Amazon, YouTube, Netflix, etc. to just come in and start getting those licenses. Imagin

Realistically what would happen if you break Google up as described: Microsoft, Amazon, FB, Tencent, etc. swoop in to grab the market share. Besides, subsidized services are a special case. Especially Maps and maybe YouTube. Yes, YouTube ma

You could argue that the quality of the web itself has declined in much the same way. SEO is a billion dollar industry with the singular goal of analyzing everything search engines do to push whatever crap they want to run ads on. As Google

There are other services, though not as advanced. In Europe you could use Revolut to create virtual disposable cards. They are more useful for one-time payments however. privacy.com seems like such a sleek solution.
