I thought that the whole point of the 41 megapixel sensor was to give more information to those types "software hacks"!

$8 for an Arduino compatible microcontroller with a battle-tested PCB, all pre-assembled is an amazing deal. Sure, you could breadboard your own for cheaper, but you wouldn't be saving a whole lot in the scheme of things.

I'm personally a big fan of component [1]. It acts a lot like NPM, but uses an actual Makefile behind the scenes (I always though Grunt was a tad ugly...). [1] https://github.com/component/component

Unfortunately, that's hard to say without doing proper usability testing. I managed to find a decent looking study that somewhat supports my position [1]. Here's an interesting quote from the abstract: "many (40%) were hesita

Even if different properties have different profiles, Google will still have access to each more then enough data to create these clever integrations in the future. I don't even mind if they have a hidden 'aggregate' profile

Google has always integrated sign-ons between those services. It is the unification of user profiles that is causing all the uproar.

The funny thing is that all those features work right now, without unifying your Google accounts.

Those two points seem to be at odds with each other. How were they incentivized to repay early? Having a below-market interest rate seems like it would do the opposite.

I think it is safe to assume that for any skill you can think of, like negotiating holidays, there will be a group of people who are (in your words) incompetent. The question is, what should happen to that group of people?

This comment from Zmetta [1] does a good job of explaining the physics without attempting to reduce them to an ad-hominem attack. [1] https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=5743500 Edit: typos

I think it is extremely misleading to summarize this technology as just "exploiting pressure differences for inflation". Technically isn't it impossible to inflate something without exploiting pressure differences? Back to the OP -- this t

Thanks for the info, thats very informative. Can you recommend any CDNs that work well with online video? It would be great to find one that is as easy to configure as cloudfront that doesn't have this issue. I'm not a big fan of Akamai's c

Why would Cloudfront cause the player to stop buffering the video? Does it happen with a HTTP Download distribution, or the RTMP streaming distribution? I've used both CloudFront and Akamai for serving video, and I don't remember running in

I think this comment from jacques_chester [1] does an excellent job at explaining why it is important to break free from this mindset periodically. It is all about busting out of local maxima in the efficiency of our tools. [1] https://new

It looks like the maximum amount a track can hold is 79 7-bit words [1], which comes out to 553 bits. Theoretically, a parallel reader would need 553 sensors, which seems fairly easy given today's manufacturing standards. [1] http://money.

I just tweaked the GP's example to used <input value="{{name}} ({{age}})"></input>, which rendered as expected. The field wasn't bound to the age or name properties though, which makes sense. In practice, this almost seems l

Thanks for the example! Does this mean that it is the value="{{age}}" attribute that is causing the binding? What happens if I want to do something like: <input value="{{firstName}} {{lastName}}"></input>?

Hmm, there seems to be quite a bit of magic here that is a bit offputting. For example, in their Getting Started page [0], they have an example of binding component data to elements. It appears that the Age slider is bound to the {{age}} va
