I don't think it's that "niche", actually. At least from my anecdata, a lot of people who want to do some basic sound editing without buying an audio editor (those are often quite expensive) at least try using Audacity a

If we want to argue semantics, sure, but (at least in my experience) a PR is by far the most common way. And from the linked article, they seem to say that pair programming is the ideal, but that continuous code reviews bring most of the sa

Pair programming is sooo much better than PR’s. I really loathe reviewing pull requests, no matter if you do it absolutely correct, and don’t miss anything, it’s extremely wasteful of the time of both the coder and the reviewer, even if the

Who involved really is better off, after hearing of the ”solution” to this crime? Except for maybe the police department, possibly a detective with an itch to scratch, and definitely the firm used for the genealogical dna profile (mentioned

Even though it took quite I while, I feel like many(!) law professionals are starting to ”get” intellectual property law and understand the internet, so this ruling will most likely be overturned in the next instance. Nowadays this kind of

What the article forgets to mention is that there is a world power ( cough China cough ) which would use all its (social-) media manipulation skills and influence to make sure that the lab leak theory was written off as crazy conspiracy t

Very good! I usually don't test out any demos here on HN, and I was really supposed to be going to bed, but the web version of your game delayed that for 45 minutes. Really enjoyable and well made!

There's so many attempts to muddy the waters it would be funny if it wasn't so serious. Even though I'm not sure you attempted to do that here, it certainly reads like it. So, basically, you're saying that (many, we know

I think most people are confused because of CCP’s successful disinformation campaign, and also out of fear of being seen as prejudiced. The fact is that an epidemic with a corona virus (never before or since seen in the wild) with a peculia

Ummm, the durability of wood is way longer than you’d think. My family lives in a three-floor wooden house from 1760, and it’s showing no signs of decay just yet. As long as you replace the facade/roof tiles when needed (every 50 year

Agreed! When reading late at night (in the bedroom, for example), it’s jarring to switch from a site that has proper dark mode to HN. I can understand some of the pushback, because at the start ”dark mode” felt mostly like a fad, but in low

I’d contend that we might have another 15 years to go before the general developer population have gotten so used to git that they are actually using it in an optimal way for their purpose. Then we’ll find out what its real pain points are,

I had the same situation, seems the Beta auto-update doesn't switch to the new architecture. Just download the beta again and install it over you old install. The performance difference is _really_ noticeable :)
