Ok but you're jumping down the rabbit hole to quickly. Physicists assume spherical cows, early mathematicians assumed only integers, why can't Rand assume that "self" is the thoughts and actions encased in one's skin? It is a good jump of

I agree with you. Ayn Rand basically says: -People are self interested. -This is not a bad thing. I think those are pretty good axioms to build upon. I don't think Rand came up with a grand unified theory of human behavior but she start

Depends. Here is a case where it wasn't: -Israelis recruit a DOD employee(Jonathan Pollard) to spy for them during the Cold War. -He tells them how to crack our naval codes. -They sell the codes to the Russians in exchange for Jewish Ukr

They're doing a bunch of bit voodoo. The ^ operator is XOR, '<<' shifts bits left and '&' is a bitwise AND. That's what they are in C++ at least. x = a&x ? a&b : c+x is a lot like the C++ shorthand if-then-else thing

"Man's ego is the fountainhead of human progress." -Ayn Rand Her books make the case that individuals working in their own self interest are the best thing for "human civilization." Disagree if you will, but you'll have a tough time coming

The Fountainhead was written in 1943. Depeche Mode saw it's first success in 1981. If even one of the best economic minds in 2045 cite Depeche Mode as their influence then you have a point. 2007 - 1943 = 64 1981 + 64 = 2045
