True, those can be annoying, especially if there is very little room left to scroll the actual content. However, I remember reading that sticky menus are quicker to navigate and preferred by some users, but they shouldn't be too large.

Author here, interested in how often do you do user testing? Depending how many changes there have been, we do it often weekly. I love to run usability tests, because I always get lots of new ideas from listening to the users.

The emails were sent via Mailchimp, the open rate was gotten from Mailchimp's reports (analytics).
