Unfortunately this is the the norm of most package managers these days, and I feel sorry pip can’t make the out-of-the-box experience more pleasant for you. If you got ideas how pip can improve the experience without compromising the zero-

Thanks for the correction :) Sometimes sarcasm is difficult to pick up when it appears without context you’re near the center of it, if I must make up an excuse.

Can’t blame it on the organisers. In general keynotes don’t provide details beforehand, and I suspect they are as surprised about this as you are (maybe except some insiders that wouldn’t spoil anyway).

There’s a command in pyenv called “python-build” that more or less automates the Python compilation part. Most don’t realise it (it’s hidden from the general UI) but that’s where most pyenv functionalities come from. I agree the rest of the

The TypeScript comparison is on an entirely different axis though, the compiled <-> interpreted one. One of the reasons languages go with the type hinting route is actually to avoid a separate compilation step like TypeScript. That ma

This is indeed a much-speculated reason behind the heavy-handed lockdown (but without substantial proof either way, it’s anybody’s guess).

The lack of Ruby support instantly rings an alarm for me because CPython (on POSIX) also is not relocatable, but is listed as support. Turns pit Hermit is actually using a third-party build script[1] instead of the official one. While the p

My guess is it’s because PyQt. AFAIK there’s not a JS binding (or any other language really) for Qt that’s nearly as established and steady. If you’re going with Qt, Python is the most reasonable choice (other than native C++ of course).

Nitpick: These are names with no _vowel letters_; many (if not all, depending on how you define what a vowel is) of these letters are pronounced with a vowel.
