Yes, I think some services attempt to retro-assign ORCIDs. I usually have to try to grab the affiliation and date to make sure I have the right person. Someday for the authors I follow I want to train a model to give me a match score with

New Haven, CT has seen a bear in a public park, lots of foxes and turkeys and deer. I’ve heard of wildcats a little further out. Also agree that housecats need to stay indoors to stop killing birds. We built an enclosure for ours to be o

I have a lot of love for BBEdit. That and textwrangler have been on every mac I’ve owned ++. Usually works like a charm and I get a new license with a new mac. I still use it for large files and when I know I need to experiment with rege

This is a great summary of a positive outcome for a hybrid OSS project. I took a look at the other blog posts - has anyone seen writing from the author that covers his experience supporting the pro and enterprise versions? I imagine that

The headline makes it sound like this was corrupt sanctioned spending by a dept rather than theft from the dept. Don’t send those resumes before you read the article!

Me: older self taught startup guy who transferred to a large edu a few years ago. Not all large co’s act as a monolith. Some allow smaller depts to run their own shop while having access to their resources. This could be bad in terms of

Count me mystified as to why there needs to be another format for citations. There are orgs doing super heavy lifting like crossref and orcid to make discovery as data better while google etc make things worse by encouraging discovery as co

Same! I’m not a super camper but when it drops below 50F it is time for that. For nursing hot water around the fire we made coozies out of thermal cloth bought at a craft store and boat seat covering material. Pre cut the shapes then hand

I’m sure that environmental concerns are a factor, but ski lifts and snowmaking aren’t cheap, there are plenty of reasons why making a new ski area is daunting. The main environmental constraint I’ve seen is rain in December wiping out all

Taking you up on your AMA, is there a best practice for discovering datasets belonging to articles and vice-versa? I see that Web of Science has a lot of this but they don't make that linkage explicitly available as an export. I ha

Shout out to all the Crossref/Datacite people in this discussion. I use your services in polite mode for discovery and don’t know what I’d do without them. If any ORCID people are in the house you get some appreciation too. I struggle

There is a very interesting podcast on the Irish/Indian overlap. The Irish themselves are not spotless but there was some support. This duo does well researched stuff and helps a lot if you are interested in Brexit and NI. https:&#x

We’re you mostly able to level the vehicle? I’ve seen well prepared people with blocks etc, and I guess there’s always a campground for level surface. The other question is that I imagine you have to break it down every day even if you are

This looks useful, the flipped coords is something that will come in handy. And validate too, sometimes I want to know what is wrong for one feature so I can fix the script that is fetching/generating.

I have a lot to read before I get excited but if the team is here: Can we get DCAT for sets that are otherwise only discoverable with OAI-PMH? Seems like a divide between govt and academic repos that hinders harvesting.
