Is it just me, or does this landing page and product feel half-finished? Missing video, coming soon, no logo...

Exactly. You do not want to poke the bear... Why do you think there isn't a good alternative to IMDB? My advice would be to take down this domain and repo immediately and go build something that wouldn't attract the attention of a

IMDB are a renown litigious company. That domain name will not last long after they catch word of this being a thing. You only have to speak to the owner of OMDB (Open Movie Database) to understand how litigious IMDB are.

Next time you read the testimonial section, copy paste the author's name into Google. You'll find that they're made up. They also share the same stock photo of the smiling woman in red. It's borderline fraud.

I'm building a Web and iOS game ( https://brawlbugs.com ) as a side project and started implementing collision detection from scratch. Terrible idea. Use a library like this if you're in the JavaScript ecosystem: https:

I recently discovered PocketBase (through HackerNews, no less..) and have fallen in love with its simplicity and ethos. I've been tinkering with it over the last week, but have yet to hear of someone using it in production. I'd lo

Can I offer a more pessimistic view? This is Darwinism. If the author has a seemingly popular and monetisable (sic) product with real users, yet has failed to achieve the state of ramen profitable, then perhaps this is fate. Perhaps he'

I have a fantastic feeling about 2024... HN is somewhere that feels like home to me. As it does for a lot of people. I'm grateful to have it in my life. All the best.

Arguably the most mature engine for building games for the web, Phaser (think Vampire Survivors), isn't even listed. I wouldn't trust this list.

Used Inngest a few months ago and now use it, with RedwoodJS as part of every project I work on. It makes absolute sense to "event everything". Also, the dev-ex is incredible. Especially in conjunction with RedwoodJS. Well done, c

Small anecdote: I discovered the codebase for this project last week and assumed that it had already been advertised and popularised. Apparently that's just happening now. I deployed the Docker container and got it working fine and I&#

I can't describe the feeling I feel when I view a website like JetPens, but it's there. It's the same feeling I had when I visited my first website. It's that same feeling I got when we had software instead of web apps.
