Appreciate all sibling comments, they encouraged me to dig further. Read Joe Armstrong's book "Pragmatic Erlang" and the section on gen_server was nothing short of breathtaking. What great and terrible power!!!

It's actually more like "just use Haskell". Having written one of these[1] a decade ago and inflicting it (with the best of intentions) upon production code in anger, I can tell you this often leads to completely unmaintainab

could you dive into the gen_srv a bit more? From what I understand about erlang the value prop is already enormous, what extra does gen_srv add? It seems like people who Erlang understand this intuitively so I haven't really been able

This is a consequence of the fact that any argument not responded to "flows across" the score sheet and is automatically a win for the team making the argument, no matter how silly. So a "natural" tendency would be to ig

It is nuts, especially in ClojureScript. "Am I missing a key, is the value in the hashmap nil, or was there an upstream error or error in this function that is presenting as nil?"

I mean its no wonder "vibe coding" is so appealing if this is the incentives framework. Why put brainpower in if it is treated as disposable junk. Just tell the AI to vibe out some slop and move on -- "business" can'

Man this looks super awesome. I will be extremely excited to ditch CouchDB for this (even tho I'm an Erlang fan). I'll certainly be keeping an eye on the project and I'll pitch in where I can!
