No, they (the manufacturer) are saying that users might "inadvertently" enter and confirm an incorrect value, which is not the same as the users enters one value but a bug causes it to be parsed, displayed and confirmed as a diffe

Wikipedia [1] has some more details, but not too many on the main page itself. Also from the top of that page I learned that "Loongson" means "Dragon Core" which to me as a westerner makes it sound very clearly Chinese (

My Google-based guess is [1]. Not too many details, though. Edit: ah, that provided keywords to find [2] which has more details. The brand was "Simplicity". [1]: https://www.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/

This seems to be more of the OpenAI debacle, Reuters has an article mentioning this technology (?) [1]. EDIT: As this is only an empty repo, I fail to see the value in posting it. [1]: https://www.reuters.com/technology/

Learning about this for work, I was surprised that it seems to be a microscopy technique invented by Marvin Minsky, of Computer Science/Turing Award/MIT/AI fame. Of course.

This was fantastic, and very inspiring. It's beautiful how the very computer sciency algorithm explanations (graphs, searches, seeds, etc) go hand in hand with the very concrete visualizations to make it very clear. There's a powe

I was banned from the second site (like many other commenters), and got a chuckle from how switching the first from FR to EN did not, in fact, translate the actual content. Silly me for expecting that, I guess.

Very cool! I think I found a minor typo: GTK 4.14 will introduce a GtkGraphicsOffload widget, whose only job it is to give a hint that GTK should try to offload the content of its child widget by attaching it to a subsurface instead of let

I understand that it's counter to the very specific brand of minimalism HN does, but it would be neat if Youtube submissions displayed the channel name without needing to click.

I clicked around, it seemed to work (I was not surprised, the Internet Archive does not fsck around). The loading experience for the page was somewhat horrible though with a large of number of warnings. And I can't reload it, now it se

Yes, it was very beautiful. As someone up in the dark pre-wintery Sweden, it would have been awesome with some floating photos of each neighborhood too, to convey the feel of each a bit better. The 3D maps were initially very impressive, bu

That is a fantastic emulator, for some reason nobody has commented and I just felt someone had to say it. :) I love all the focus on really nice-looking built-in tooling, memory heatmap and execution history are really cool to have! Great j

Not for the signed ("arithmetic") case when you need to duplicate the sign bit into the topmost bit. You can't replicate that with a rotate, it's a distinct operation.

This was really interesting, I (being a C buff, beard and all) love this kind of low-level hacking to get critical infrastructure to work on a platform. Many of the gotchas they experienced seemed familiar (such as char's lack of signe

Oh fun! I love Geany and use it as much as I can. I adore its speed, low resource-usage and simplicity. I hope the plug-in API hasn't changed too much, I have a tiny git plugin [1] I wrote that I hope still builds! Plug: if you think j
