I’ve seen a few repurposed as comedy clubs. Ironically brings them closer to their original role as proper theatres. You don’t get the all-day money making you do with a cinema (though plenty of daytime screenings are very empty) but you ca

I don’t think OP’s post was in good faith but I actually do think this is an interesting discussion! A lot of conspiracy theory and white supremacism thrives in places like private WhatsApp groups. I don’t think that means we have to remove

I suspect this is a negotiation/political stance from the Indian government. Say you’re going to do it, then expect it from Apple. I don’t think it’ll work. But I don’t think asking Apple nicely would work for a single second either.

It would mean that image decoding can’t start until the page JS is initialised, which is a pretty crappy trade off compared to today.

But that still doesn't answer the question of why use it. It's going to be inherently less stable than using first party apps, and the Pi is still more expensive in the first place. I just don't see a compelling case for it.

I dunno, if it wasn't for Safari we'd all be Progressive Web App developers, but they're years behind on implementing common sense standards.

I think the point is that you simply don’t know in a lot of these videos. They’re random bystanders, not known figures with photographic evidence. So you’re not going to know what to recolour it to, or if it’s even wrong in the first place.

which skin colour is a question here as well. There are a lot of variations and I'm not sure that a black and white film is going to contain enough information for you to know. There's a danger of white-washing (or the reverse!)

Mozilla just signed another huge deal with Google for the default search engine in Firefox to be Google. Judgement of that deal aside for a moment, Mozilla isn't going anywhere soon.

The ability to use streaming apps like Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, HBO, etc etc etc? Besides, a lot of these streaming sticks are cheaper that an RPi. The question is why should you use a Pi over the streaming stick, not the other way around.

Europe has plenty of industrial bread products that do not taste anywhere near as sweet as US bread. It was something that really threw me when I arrived here, that if I went to a supermarket and bought any old loaf of bread it would taste

That's because trains in the US are incredibly slow. There is nothing inherent in train travel the requires it to be that way. If you visit a country that actually invests in train travel you'll see it's a fast, convenient wa

That was surprising to me, too. For me the big benefit of QuickJS is the tiny runtime size. If that isn't a factor you might as well go for V8, the performance is an order of magnitude better.

I'm very dubious about whether these actually match real world performance. I've done a bunch of work with QuickJS. It's awesome and the performance features you get in return for its tiny footprint is amazing. But compared
