Or the car has a fair amount of EMR noise and one cable - being shielded - experiences less loss as a result. This could also explain why bluetooth was particularly bad.

It's a documentation spec that has a lot of tooling around it. I disagree that it is either pointless or an abstraction. Back in the day, the best feature of SOAP API's was that they were documented in a machine readable fashion.

I agree with you, but it is an unpopular opinion here. Many commenters either fancy themselves to be city planners or take a "tragedy of the commons" view of infrastructure. The latter is not wrong ... but it doesn't mean we

Anecdote: I'm a Sr. Staff Engineer at a large employer in a LCOL city. Typical middle class houses cost $300k - $500k here, with luxury houses costing roughly $1m and small starter homes costing $200k (just using real estate as a rough

The sales numbers don't back this up. GM slowed their EV rollout and is working on hybrids because people aren't buying EV's at the same rate they expected.

I could buy an EV. Or I could (and did) buy a hybrid. Now I get good fuel economy, don't need to install a home charger, and have no range anxiety. You hit the nail on the head - infrastructure and charging speeds need to improve befor

Black people being unable to swim is a trope in the United States, to the point of being a racist joke. There's some truth to it - black neighborhoods were less likely to have amenities like public pools, and black families were genera

I'd question a few of your claims. Deere has an entire construction division and it's huge. Deere has had its hands in the defense industry for decades - they sell military gators, guidance systems for predator drones, etc. They&#

Row crops can be (and already are) irrigated with hoses. In dry areas of the world, drip tape is buried throughout the entire field because it allows farmers to make more efficient use of the water available to them. It does require the mac

Intel has older fabs on that list - including one that was built in 2003 - that are capable of 7nm production processes. Some of the older domestic plants have been significantly updated over the years.

I mean, that's fair, but phones don't need to cost that much. I can buy a current-gen basic Moto for $60 in the Fi store today. Who buys current flagship phones for kids? Most families I know upgrade one device at a time and the k

Pardon the glib reply, but if this is what Facebook considers "innovation" then I'm with the author of TFA. How does switching to a more obfuscated metric result in a better product or improved user experience?

10h on, 8h off. A 400 mile trip does not require off-time or stops unless somehow you get so snarled in traffic that you're averaging less than 40mph. Drivers are really good at avoiding needing to stop the rig for bathroom stops.
