In the context of the full keynote it was pretty funny. The contrast between all the great announcements that preceded the Rockr was close to 'and lastly there's this phone. It's fine. Okay, good night, everybody!'

Vice built its reputation on 'ironic racism' at least fifteen years before Charlottesville. I guess that makes Gavin some kind of innovator.

I agree that the glut of electron apps is becoming a problem. I disagree that Apple redesigning UIs to focus on content instead of chrome has improved usability. I'm thinking of 'style over substance' changes like hiding scro

My understanding is that Sweden's strategy seemed effective only until a couple months passed. When more data was available, Sweden's death toll fared poorly compared to neighboring countries. The last time I noticed a news update

That's a fair question, but I don't want to answer it. It's a little like asking 'what's your use-case for scissors?' in that it would take a couple days of prolonged reflection to answer comprehensively. Whate

In the past, you could copy a bootable volume just by dragging its contents, and you could run Finder straight off the install media. Today I guess Apple finds it eccentric for a user to expect to create a simple backup.

Everyone's different, but for me, a Mac that can't boot from an external drive might as well be an expensive hot plate or a cutting board.

If I had a six year old Mac with a dead internal SSD, I'd sooner connect an external drive than shell out for a new logic board.

Definitely 'exact match search' (or 'verbatim search' in evil-ese) Also bunching dupes and near-dupes. It stinks to wade through 100s of duplicate files. For C and C++ files, it would be nice if you prioritized implement

Duolingo had (or perhaps still has?) language forums. Duolingo used 'move fast and break things' moderation, and as a result there was a constant trickle of posts by racists and perverts.

I actually only added that line as a postscript to not sound like I was making some kind of feeble boast. Ie: 'I've seen things you people wouldn't believe: racist memes on Etsy, animal carcasses on glassdoor.com...'

I think it's more a function of age. People in highschool or college can stomach more than older adults. Younger adults don't shock easily because (a) they typically have less and feel less responsibility, (b) the thrill of breaki
