Well, duh. The problem is applying these policies - because blindly applying policies usually leads to mixed results (innocents banned, trolls using a loophole in policy and proliferating). But to quote the author - > we have a way to pr

It is less stable, more expensive, lacks proper spot instances, and all opensource-based services are full of unnecessary msft-style modifications.

Msft is very pushy around Azure - they really try to behave like they are on par with aws (they are not. well, maybe on paper). O would not be surprised if this deal is a result of regular Msft blackmail-style negotiations.

That was my biggest concern as well. I am sure you do not do that, it it would have been so easy to funnel my data (or metadata) to your servers. Open-sourcing and authenticating the client code would resolve this issue for me.

Not really, I have seen a lot of unneeded abbreviations. Thankfully we are (almost) out of the age of 140c messages and 40c editor lines. But more to the point, 'vulns' seems like a very unnatural abbreviation. I would go with v11

This blog post is so watered down and manages to digress at every possible point that it is almost impossible to read. The only useful part of the text are the URLs. Also, this: > A vulnerability, or vuln for short, is a bug that makes s

Funny how word 'Enterprise' picks up more and more negative connotation in modern software world. These days, 'enterprise' means outdated, inflexible and intentionally flawed monster of technology.

But if you run your dev environment in the same cloud, doesn’t it void this argument almost completely? The onlything i would run locally would be the frontend, and it is web/mobile anyway.

Well, I guess 'DNS flag day' is a catchy name, and the text is intentionally FUD-y, so it has better chance of viral distribution. I just like the concise summary on ISC page better, needs less scrolling.

This is purely anecdotical. Short-term rentals exist mostly because of high hotel prices (well, and poor hotel service - but that is already covered by the high price, as 'high price' is a term relative to the quality of goods). I

Exactly. You cannot make it without luck (you need to be in the right place at the right time), but you greatly improve your chances if you are at the right place most of the time.

This is not a big problem. The fact that p2p protocols are not push-notification friendly, and can eat through your battery in the background is much bigger issue.

I actually prefer a date-based approach to release naming. Given continuous flow of kernel development, I would advocate for releasing a major every year, a minor every month, and patches as needed. Gives you better indication of how much b
