Indeed, I genuinely think the best thing that Microsoft did to combat piracy on the Xbox was by making it so easy to join the developer programme and build / install your own apps on the Xbox.

Indeed. I was interested in something like this for iOS but in the end decided to buy an Android phone. Not saying Android is magically perfect but if emulation is your thing it's clearly the superior platform.

I would say there's a shortage of skilled mid to senior level developers, but at the junior level, not so much. That's not to say even decent junior talent is easy to find though. Keep in mind those large companies can be very des

I agree that there's a huge non-porn market that's likely largely preferable, but said market is already on Patreon which, I think most people would agree, is overall a better platform to begin with.

Thing is, iCloud Photos are already not E2E encrypted, so it's sort of irrelevant if they're requiring "vouchers" in this case.

A few years ago I would've agreed but WSL is so damn good now that I honestly prefer it over developing on a Mac, particularly as it solves a lot of the performance issues.

If memory serves the main problem is some Thunderbolt cards don't ship with the necessary firmware on them, so would need to be used at least once in a supported motherboard before just used in any system.

What you've described is precisely why I love WSL - you can nuke and rebuild your Linux setup easily. It's fantastic honestly.

Indeed and it's worth mentioning that when every job has that sort of notice period it's less of an issue than you might think. Not to mention there's always room for negotiation with these things.

As someone who highly suspects they may have ADHD, how was the diagnosis life changing? Was it through medication, or simply through understanding yourself better?

Indeed, which honestly makes this a bit of a non-story in my opinion. A bit of a misleading headline.

To be honest the line of not needing as much RAM because M1 is total nonsense. Rather, it's just that people in general don't need as much RAM as they think they do, but ultimately if you need a lot of RAM for docker, development,

I'm sure I read somewhere that Ive actually really wanted to push the Watch as a high ticket device for rich people, and it was him being ousted that lead to Apple taking the more health-focused direction they're taking now.

I wish it worked like this in the UK. If memory serves in London a motorbike has a 1 in 12 chance of being stolen in any given year, and I suspect it's a lot higher for bicycles. To be fair when my bicycle was stolen the police did car

On the upside as long as you have Find My iPhone activated when you did have the phone it doesn't have a huge amount of value to the thief, particularly on newer models where individual components can't even be swapped without i

One could perhaps conclude from those stats though that if it were limited to 30w (i.e. same as M1), that it would still edge out on performance. My only question is what it's idle power consumption is like.

You know, I was thinking last night about the parallels between this and the anti-trust investigation into Microsoft back in the 90s. Back then Microsoft was in a heap of trouble over the fact that they bundled IE and didn't allow vend

To be fair the ad-blockers available for Safari are severely limited compared to what can be done in Chrome. Things like YouTube ads for example aren't blocked reliably in Safari in my experience.

Without more detail it's hard to say much that's useful but in my experience WSL2 has been nothing short of excellent. Also switched from Mac to Windows with WSL and the development experience is much better.

To be fair I suspect Apple was aware of the problem long before they made the announcement to that effect. I remember at the time people were saying how un-Apple-like it was to admit that there was an issue at all. I think it was because at
