At redhat, we just maintain kpatch and hire kernel engineering to do the same. Turn around is about a week for 40 variants of kernel.

Most people care about user facing code. Which is by and large most of the code. You get the option with open source. You do not get the option with closed. Cut, dried, dehydrated and delivered to your door.

I find that report itself a little strange. Most gp are not associated with hospitals (at least near me). So I wonder if that skews the statistics. I only go to the hospital when I'm having major surgery.
