Germany has quite a lush hacker culture (e.g. CCC), I'm wondering why some people with know-how don't just get together and make a bunch of solutions like the one in this submission.

Can you please share how you learned leadership, communication, negotiation etc. and how you measured your effectiveness as a manager? This thread is mostly just like these management books - collections of anecdotes disguised as a training

This is better that the regular benchmarks and LLM tricks such as passing some exam or other because it's unlikely that they were part of the training set for said LLMs. It also mirrors my experience, that GPT4 is way ahead of everythi

I'm sure these long term strategies can work in places where you can hire and fire as you please, not so much in countries with strong worker protection laws. There you really need to see how good the prospective employee is until prob

I would pay good money to have just my bed soundproofed so I can enjoy a quiet night's rest. Those capsule hotel 'rooms' seem like they could do the job, I'm not sure where to get one. Room within a room would be nice to

I tried multiple flavors of llama models, they are all quite dumb. Even the 70b parameter one. It knows about more things which the smaller models just hallucinate when asked, but still cannot do even slightly more complex tasks. I'm a

I find these guides a bit disappointing in that they always give the example of a wire loop generating an EM field, which one could sort of imagine given day to day experience with direct current and conductors. However this all breaks down

I would have expected them to at least be on archive.net's software area. Given that they are now cultural heritage we should do better to preserve them, especially the videos that could inspire the next generation of hackers.

Most of the time it's anxiety. You'd be surprised how easy it is to start doing something when you don't feel any kind of pressure. Getting rid of it is hard work though, sometimes even harder than doing the thing you're

Everyone is talking about food containers, what about textiles - we breathe in and swallow quite a lot of dust every day, mostly coming from them. Even if you're wearing pure cotton the others may not and the office carpets and furnitu

Well, eventually, yes. Personally it's hard to see parents around me trying to do their best for their children (gadgets, comfort, road trips, holidays) and inadvertently make their life difficult in the future. I try to gently point t

Or, we watch a movie like 24 where the protagonist is asking his agency buddies to hack random computers while straight up torturing people to get information - and we cheer for him.
