I have been using iPhone tethering for almost a month now, and it rocks. I am not going to update to any new iPhone OS unless I am sure I can tether. Paying $45 for HSI at home and $30 for iPhone is a lot. I am not looking forward to add mo

I think it will be an awesome case study to have an essay on what went behind choosing every startup@YC till now and more startups can be added after every funding cycle. Then talking about the YC funded startup success/failure stories with

Thanks Andrew, I have emailed you. This looks like a useful app. Good luck and keep us posted about it. Also, how can I post a review about this app on the appstore, if I dont buy it and use the adhoc?

I was more curious about how the office setup is designed. How startups are allocated space, what is the interaction model between different startups, is there a white board to post story/question/idea of the day?

I am not a big fan of flash slide shows. They literally suck. edit: One cannot control it. Move the slide show faster, slower, go back, stop, etc., which makes it time consuming and inefficient.

On a side note, can someone from YC post pictures of YC office? Just curious. :)

I think it is a very interesting move and might actually be successful. Personally, I would love to read comments by my favorite characters from tv-series I watch during a show.

If this is the case, Chrome is now my default browser. I am fine with most of the websites being slower but not gmail.

It was not happening till a week back. But for the last few days, I am definitely seeing gmail to be working much much faster on chrome.

Can someone throw more light into this idea YC is working on? I am damn curious, given that http://ycombinator.com/ideas.html mentions techcrunch on one side and reddit on the other (News will morph significantly in the more competitive e

On a side note, google should definitely get its act together related to customer service. I have heard so many horror stories about google's indifferent/insignificant customer service lately.

Personally speaking, I wont pay if facebook starts charging me $20/year. Rather, it might improve my life because I wont waste anytime on it. However, if google starts charging for gmail, I will totally pay an annual amount as long as they

WOW! this is a big breakthrough. I have friends working in my collaborators group using STM and AFM at UHV (Ultra High Vacuum) and ULT (Ultra Low Temperatures), and know second hand how difficult/near to impossible it is.

This is exactly what we are going through. The VCs we talk to want to see revenue projections of $50MM+ in 5 years and want a project plan for investment in $MM. All we need is in $150k range and it is extremely difficult to find money in t

so you are saying $500/hour is industry average? Hackeronymous mentioned that he charged $100k for a 1000 hour work which he could have done in almost 1/6th time if he was experienced. I am not sure about the industry average, but I work th

I was not saying that you should charger per hour. I was asking that the numbers you floated will make more sense if you can provide how much time you spent on each of those projects. For example: you mentioned $100k on RoR project. This nu
