It’s complicated but I think many countries have pretty strong protections for consumers against unusual or unexpected clauses in contracts. I would be very surprised if this part of the terms would be enforceable, for example, in Germany.

I think search is very different from browsing. Browsing is appropriate at different times than search. Some people (independently of whether they are power users or not) like browsing more than search or search more than browsing. There ar

Safari (which leverages Readability for its Reader functionality) also does that. It seems to try and detect links at the end of an article that look like pagination links which sometimes leads to interesting failures. Being able to do that

Meh. Dawkins is harmless and says very docile stuff all the time. I honestly don’t understand people who are offended by him. Really?!

“But it is easy, especially for trained theologians, to get to whatever conclusion they want from some dogmatic starting point.” Wow, never was the uselessness of theologians more succinctly described.

Because it’s different people doing it. I have long had the theory that the people at the top who could have done something against that (notably Steve Jobs) simply don’t care about that discrepancy, that’s why it can continue.

Compared to desktop operating systems Android does very limited multitasking or, to put it in another way, it is cleverer about multitasking (iOS, too). Remaining backwards compatible while picking up such a new model of multitasking is har

The fundamentals are solid (the line height is perfectly alright, about one hundred characters per line are within the range of empirical results on optimal readability). I suspect the font is so small because the design is so old. As far a

LG didn’t sue and they are also not selling the phone anymore. It’s irrelevant. I’m disgusted by what Apple is doing but this is not an argument.
