Sounds like the old adage that you learn from failures, not successes. Much ado about nothing, methinks.

I thought that Section 8 housing has to meet some minimum standards. Are they really that minimal?

What's not prohibited is allowed, at least in the US.

Scraping is only legal if it's temporary and transformational. If Google started selling the scrapped images it would be a different story.

Sufficiently transformational only applies to copyrightability, but AI works are not copyrightable under current US law, so it's a non-issue.

Not if it is AI generated. So far only humans can be original enough to warrant copyrights, at least in the US . BTW, the right to prepare derivative works belongs to the copyright holder of the reference work. I doubt that many AI works ar

A human artist does not need to look at and memorize 100000 pictures in any span of time, period. Current AI does. We needed huge amounts of human labor to fund and build Versailles. I'm sure many died as a result. Now we have machines

You're really talking about digital possession not ownership.

It's not a non-ownership tend. There never was ownership of the content. It was a dillusion. Content was licensed. The thing that's changing is the licensing model, from, arguably, perpetual to a short term with indefinite options

We should get away from using the term buy with respect to media. What you're actually doing is licensing in. Why not just say the latter, even if it sounds awkward? At the very least it will build awareness of the actual nature of the

There is a misunderstanding among consumers, be it individuals or corporations, that by purchasing a physical medium you simultaneously purchase a perpetual license. While in gross majority of consumer cases that was true, or at least impli

Greed makes people do things that are hasty and stupid. Love makes people do things that are hasty and stupid. ... All emotions are by definition impulsive and irrational and thus hasty and stupid. You are cherry picking.

Sad to hear about the BRI billing from PacBell. The 56k modem was a quasi-digital connection and as I recall asymmetric. xDSL (there were so many flavors) was a disappointment in some areas in comparison to ISDN for reasons I do not recall,
