That's weird, how then do other languages manage to solve importing packages/modules cleanly without requiring that the name of the package include the version number, while still allowing developers to specify exactly which v

If the framework is open-source, then I'd think it could be forked even if it gets killed. The problem then would be if there are some changes in Android that are incompatible with the framework, rendering it no-longer-usable.

Yeah, there's no reason you have to use Snap. You can even use flatpak on Ubuntu (I've just started trying that out myself).

The article omits some major influential JS projects over the years that folks have already pointed out (Backbone, Coffeescript, Underscore -- and I'd add Require.js, as a commonplace early AMD loader before ES modules were a thing). A

I mostly agree with you, but having spent a good part of my career dealing with data integration patterns, I'm all too familiar with the problem of missed messages from the consumer (or failed-to-send messages from the producer) that

I wonder how much of this has to do with the stripping-away of Section 230 protections that was started/attempted recently. A bit more paranoid response to published content that could create legal issues for Twitter now.

As long as this is an opt-out setting, and not a community standard, this is a cop-out. The problem is not "our poor users are bombarded with untrue political ads!" The problem is that Facebook has become a cesspool that breeds co

The title is not a very good one, because it's nearly a rhetorical question: no language I've ever seen -- not even Haskell -- has a type system that completely removes the need for tests. For example, even Haskell has partial f

If that were the case, then coc.nvim [0] wouldn't work quite the way it does. I run VSCode extensions in NeoVim all the time now. [0] https://github.com/neoclide/coc.nvim

I would consider the example case of F# -- originally a research language that, though it graduated to a life of its own, keeps feeding features "back into" C#.
