No, the return type can change as long as all return paths return the same value for the same function call. So you can't, in the same execution, return two different types, but two different executions can vary their return type as lo

Don't overlook how simple it is to keep and maintain your own in-house project template. If you're making enough new projects for it to be an issue, it could really benefit you to roll your own. There are a few ways to solve a lot

Interesting to see some more details on the appliances. Isn't the argument primarily about peering, not open connect appliances, though?

Before "the cloud" we had a lot of awful flash restaurant websites done by a local contractor with wildly varying quality, functionality, and no ability to order online. I'd say the "the cloud" (the pop-culture and

That's one of the main concerns I have with it. They're really hanging their hat on the fact that they implemented a physics engine so they don't have to rely on OS-native things like inertia, so it works the same everywhere.

It doesn't feel shady to me, as long as one remembers you're _buying just that particular product_. I'm really happy to have the chance to support even a major company experimenting if it provides a product more suited to me

This is a great response, as far as I'm concerned. I especially appreciate them explaining why this issue could be more than just "trademark gone awry".

Googlers, what is your opinion on relaxing the remote work rules? Seems like a very direct way to ease this tension, but I have no perspective on how detrimental it would be to Google's culture.

I agree with everyone that's calling this mob behavior and harassment. In no way is this "OK". But... I'm actually glad this discussion is happening. I think it's a really interesting problem that faces a lot of cit

I think it's fair to expect at least an attempt, given that you felt strongly enough to post your first comment. Without context, it boils down to "I have an opinion." Not surprising people would ask you to expand on that.
