Bidding is the best way to get rid of the best contractors, because most of them won't want to invest significant time to compete with others for the jobs, so what you're left with are the most desperate or mediocre ones. And even those wil

Because first and foremost, we want to keep contractors happy. If they are paid well (by well I don't mean ripping clients off), they will come back and perform more work. Our long-term goal is to establish a trusted network of developers t

We had exactly the same frustrations with online outsourcing (being on both sides of the table), and now we have built https://codeable.io (focused only on WordPress for the time being) - 4 months after launch, we have more than 900 jobs

I wish developers had more sense of marketing in general - with all due respect to it's author(s) but BODOL (the word) sounds,... well strange, unsexy, uninteresting. It really doesn't do the language itself any justice!

I'm not saying workflows don't require instructions, quite the opposite. I am saying though, that these instructions don't need to be hand-holding tours, they can be subtle hints in the workflow, in terms of proper copy, icons, labels, etc.

Sure - their core concept was adding a walkthrough with a voice over. Since none of our team was native english speaker, we didn't feel confident enough in having our voices in the walkthrough. This means we'd have to hire someone at http:

I actually tried Kera for our product ( https://codeable.io ) and even had a Skype conversation with one of the founders, but I knew having a walkthrough guide (their product) was just a band-aid for poor UX, and as such, just a temporary s

I think you guys misunderstood the purpose of MVP, since your lessons learned part explains pretty much what we can find in Lean approach books. MVP is not a product, it's a learning process. Bugs have nothing to do with being lean (or no

That's kinda the point, not noticing what the browser version even is, because it's completely irrelevant (except with IE). What's important is that it follows standards and supports new features sooner rather than later.

I hope I'm not the only one, but I really do feel lazily loading javascripts is an overkill and not worth it in 99% of cases. Even if your concatenated .js file ends up being huge, well, you can set expires headers for a year, and then asyn
